he idea for this Relaxation and Meditation Series grew organically from Dr. Mike's work with clients at Phoenix Counseling & Hypnotherapy in Alexandria, VA. With specializations in the treatment of post-traumatic stress, anxiety and problematic behavior patterns, there were many opportunities to learn what really works. Dr. Mike's training in Neuro Linguistic Programming, his experience as a licensed counselor and board certified master hypnotherapist and his intuition made him uniquely qualified to create the series.

The first two recordings, "Self Hypnosis" and "Progressive Relaxation," are designed to introduce the listener to the relaxation experience. They also prepare one to better appreciate the recordings that follow. "Seeds of Change" is designed for individuals who are facing or avoiding the need for change in their lives. The fourth and fifth recordings in the series, "Reining in Habits, Parts I and II," were created to help the listener independently confront and overcome habits. Throughout the series, Dr. Mike blends metaphoric language, common sense understandings and proven hypnotic technique to achieve results.

DESCRIPTIONS

Self Hypnosis – The state of hypnosis, or trance as it is sometimes called, lies between conscious awareness and the brink of sleep. If you have achieved an altered state of consciousness through other means such as progressive relaxation, meditation or biofeedback, this recording will help you reach that same level of peacefulness. All you will need to do is listen to the sound of Dr. Mike's voice and follow the simple instructions. With practice, you will be able to achieve this relaxed state on your own, even without listening to this recording.

Progressive Relaxation – Progressive Relaxation has been created to help you release the tension and stress that you experience at work, home or in your social life. Using cyclical and repetitive deep breathing patterns, combined with muscle relaxation, Progressive Relaxation will teach you how to systematically calm your thoughts, relax your body, and achieve a peaceful inner state. You will learn how to relax in this manner any time you wish by following the simple instructions.

Seeds of Change – This meditation will appeal to all those who are struggling with change in their lives. By using familiar imagery from the cycles of nature, Dr. Mike poetically weaves together a meditation that will inspire you to address your need for change. Although change can lead to rewards, it can also be frightening. This recording will help you listen inside and allow your inner wisdom to guide you to a wise decision. And when you decide, when you free yourself from limitations, when you embrace what is best for you, you will also rest easy at your center.

Reining in Habits, Parts I and II – Reining in Habits is an intricate two-part meditation that will help you target any habit for elimination. Dr. Mike has employed the art of metaphor and a number of hypnotic and Neuro Linguistic Programming techniques to create these two unique recordings. By focusing on the "intention" or related purpose behind your habit, and by learning how to substitute a more positive behavior in its place, you will learn how to eliminate habits that have defied previous attempts to stop them. And once you change one habit, there's no telling how many others you might also address.
