r. Wanna Prommart is a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified bereavement facilitator. Dr. Prommart holds a B.S. in Business Management, M.A. in Counseling and Guidance and a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.

Dr. Prommart has been active in the field of psychology for more than 15 years. She has worked in a variety of settings, including the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Federal Prison, the U.S. Air Force Academy and in public and private hospitals, university counseling centers and community mental health facilities. She has also served as a consultant to the Denver Police Department, Colorado Department of Housing Authority, Battered Women’s Shelters, and the Colorado/Wyoming Department of Social Services.

Dr. Prommart offers personalized psychological services to all of her patients. This means that clients have direct communication whenever they need to contact her. Dr. Prommart personally answers all calls that come into her office to ensure that confidentiality is protected. The only time she doesn’t immediately answer a call is when she is in session with a patient. Dr. Prommart’s philosophy is that the person sitting in front of her in the therapy room is the most important person for her at that moment.

For the therapeutic process to be effective, Dr. Prommart believes a good fit between the patient and therapist is essential. This working alliance is a crucial consideration in any therapeutic work. Dr. Prommart strives to provide a constructive, memorable healing journey for all of her patients. Therefore, a good working alliance between the patient and therapist must be one of the components of the therapeutic journey.

Dr. Prommart’s theoretical orientation is grounded in a combination of psychoanalytical, self psychology, object relation, humanistic/existential and Eastern philosophy. Each theory has provided her with a foundation to help her patients solve their problems or concerns. The psychoanalytical theory helps develop an insight into patients’ early life experiences. Self psychology allows patients to use their experiences as instruments of change. Patients help to heal themselves by recreating and re-experiencing corrective emotional experiences. Object Relation theory permits Dr. Prommart to use herself as an object in the healing process by providing remediation of negative life experiences. Through the course of a lifetime, we all come to question our existence in the world and this self questioning may induce anxiety, depression and/or fear. Humanistic/existential theory provides perspective and context for the patient’s fears. Lastly, the Eastern philosophy is a cornerstone in Dr. Prommart outlook on life and how she conducts herself. Dr. Prommart’s goal is to help her patients reach a calm place in their lives. When one achieves balance, life’s challenges tend to be less extreme and less likely to push us off course.

The love of Dr. Prommart’s life is her 60 pound Red Bone Coon Hound. Zimba was adopted from a West Virginia animal shelter two years ago. Besides taking her Red Bone for daily morning walks in the park, Dr. Prommart enjoys woodworking projects, mindfulness mediation, Tai Chi, golfing and she plans to learn to ski in the near future. All these activities help her maintain a balance in her own life. According to Sigmund Freud, a healthy individual must live a balanced life that involves: LOVE, WORK and PLAY. Come and meet Dr. Prommart in person. She is eager to help you address any challenge that might need to be addressed in your life. Dr. Prommart also wishes you the strength of the four elements.

I wish you always:
     Air to breathe,
     Fire to warm you,
     Water to drink and
     The earth to live in.

Call now and let your healing journey begin.
